Of Jesus Christ

The scriptures my family chose for the last two weeks went really well together.

Last week was Helaman 5:12:

And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall.

This week is Job 19:25:

For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shallstand at the latter day upon the earth:

I know that Jesus Christ lives and that He's my Savior and Redeemer. Nothing else in this world matters if you know those truths. I try to base my life on Him and on His teachings, because I know that's where real joy is found. Nothing else really matters. Either things will align with those beliefs or they're water under the bridge.

If you base your life on Jesus Christ, everything else will work out. He's waiting for us to turn to Him so that He can bless us. And He does bless us, with more than we can ever imagine!

Visiting Teaching Message - October 2013

I know it's late in the month, but better late than never, right?? One of my newest hobbies is making these simple quote pages, so I thought I'd start doing this with the Visiting Teaching message each month. I'll try to get it up sooner, in the coming months! But I hope some of you can use this. I made it as a 4x6, so you can get it printed anywhere and stick it on a plate of cookies when you realize it's already Halloween and you haven't done your visiting teaching yet! Visiting teachers are welcome as trick-or-treaters, right?? ;)

He Lives

We were out of town for Easter, so I didn't post anything. But this message is true all year long!

Christmas = Unselfish Service

I found another wonderful video on the Church's Christmas site. I think it shows exactly what Christmas is really about. It's not about the presents or the pretty lights or the frenzy. It's about remembering. It's about showing that we remember and are grateful.

Lifting Burdens - The Atonement of Jesus Christ

These videos are too powerful to wait to publish, so I hope readers don't mind my clogging their Readers. This one is especially powerful, as it is filled with pure testimony of Jesus Christ. You will feel the love of our Apostles and of Jesus Christ as you watch this video.

Sunday Will Come

I kind of feel like I'm in the middle of my own Friday. I have a list of things weighing me down... I'm glad I saw this video today, because it really put things into perspective. Part of Elder Hale's Conference talk also put things into perspective:

"Our challenges, including those we create by our own decisions, are part of our test in mortality. Let me assure you that your situation is not beyond the reach of our Savior. Through Him, every struggle can be for our experience and our good. Each temptation we overcome is to strengthen us, not destroy us. The Lord will never allow us to suffer beyond what we can endure."

I'm in the middle of a Friday in my life, but it's strengthening me and preparing me for my next Sunday.
